Devlog – UI and Polish
This is the 5th state of the Dino game development, and this stage is about UI and polish.
So far, the DinoTheDinosaur game is near to the last development stage, so in this state more UI components have been added to the game to make it graphical rich and friendly for users. In this stage, the main menu of the game is added and will be loaded first to allow user to select listed menu including the play button to play the game, settings button that allow user to change difficulty of the game as well as the volume control. This menu has background music that will improve user experience. This menu is linked directly to the main game so when the game is over, users can go back to the main menu by select the ‘QUIT” button to go back to the home screen and select the level that fit their play styles.
This design is achieved by using Unity canvas combined with UI text and UI button, as well as Dino style background image. In the last stage of prototype development, all menu buttons will be completed and controlled by game functions. Some testings will be done by peer review to test the game as well as get some improvement feedbacks from Discord group prior to final submission for the prototype.
